We are pleased to welcome Allen's next City Manager, Eric Ellwanger, to our September 18 meeting.  Allen City Council appointed Mr. Ellwanger as Allen's next City Manager unanimously during the June 11 council meeting.

Ellwanger has been Allen's acting city manager since May 1, guiding Allen through a period of transition following the retirement of longtime city manager Peter H. Vargas.

Ellwanger was hired as Assistant to the City Manager in 2012 and promoted to Assistant City Manager in 2014.  His career in municipal service spans more than fifteen years with positions in Plano and Colleyville.  He holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texs and a BA in Management from the University of Houston.

He and his wife, Tara, live in Allen with their two daughters, Allison and Megan.  In his free time, he enjoys watching Megan's soccer games, Allison's ballet performances and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
